She started in nursing in 2007 after receiving her BSN from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. Julie returned to earn her Master of Science in nursing from Marymount University in Arlington, VA in 2013. After working several years as a family nurse practitioner, she became most interested in helping patients suffering from psychiatric illnesses. In 2020, she earned a post-graduate certificate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va.
