Hello there! I'm Kara Tarr, a dedicated mental health professional with over 15 years of varied medical experience. My journey in the medical field began with education as a cardiovascular perfusionist, armed with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. From there, I found my calling in nursing and earned a Bachelors degree in the field from Duquesne University, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My skills and knowledge have been put to test in a number of challenging environments including intensive care, surgery, and IT nursing.

I am a dual certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My experience with psychiatric patients began with adults while working as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have experience working with varied psychiatric disorders including Depression, ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Personality Disorders, Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorders. In addition I am also experienced with Substance use and Alcohol use disorders. I also perform Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations and Substance Abuse Assessments.

He is licensed in both South Carolina and North Carolina. He graduated from South College with his Master's in Physician Assistant studies in 2015. Sahil has utilized his experience by treating patients in both civilian and military settings. He is a Captain in the Army Reserves and has 15 years of military service. He is the owner of Carolina Psychiatry and Addiction Services.

He earned a Master's in Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida, a Doctorate of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. He enjoys working with both children and adults and is passionate about helping his patients find balance in the biological, psychological, and spiritual aspects of life.
