David Bedrick, J.D., Dipl. PW, is a counselor, attorney, and teacher. He is the author of Talking Back to Dr. Phil: Alternatives to Mainstream Psychology and Revisioning Activism: Bringing Depth, Dialogue, and Diversity to Individual and Social Change. His newest book is: You Can't Judge a Body by Its Cover: 17 Women's Stories of Hunger, Body Shame, and Redemption.

David is the founder of the Santa Fe Institute for Shame-based Studies where he teaches and works with individuals from all over the world. He completed graduate work in psychology at the University of Minnesota and clinical training at the Process Work Institute, where he is a diplomate and adjunct faculty member as well as a member of the ethics committee and the advisory board for the master of arts program in conflict facilitation.
