One of the key challenges in the Mental Health space is the stigma and fear that still surrounds it. At the same time individuals continue to struggle in silence with their own issues and may face difficulties in addressing them. My focus is on creating an environment in which a client feels empowered and positive about addressing their own mental & emotional well-being needs. By inviting a proactive approach in the therapeutic process not only is a client able to address the specific challenges they are facing, it empowers them to create lasting and positive changes in their life.

I adopt a strengths-based approach in working with adolescents who face a variety of issues during their developmental years. I work directly with youths closely on the ground and I am able to connect and provide perspectives in engaging adolescents. I also assist parents in understanding and supporting their adolescents during these periods.

As someone who has struggled with sleep myself, I know only too well the impact of chronic tiredness. I now know how to manage my sleep better, but only after years of being surrounded by good sleepers, who gave well-intentioned but ultimately unhelpful advice. I provide a medication-free way to address sleep needs for babies through to young adults, working alongside your family to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to support your family in the best way possible.

Samantha is a clinical psychologist, she believes the same procedure cannot work on everyone as everybody is unique. For this reason, she goes the extra mile and modifies her techniques to cater to the very personal needs of her clients. She sometimes uses multiple techniques and a combination of them to provide her clients with whatever suits the best to them.  Hypnosis, Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic are some of the methods she uses. She considers the goal of her practice is to see her clients living a fulfilling life and enjoying it at its best within themselves and with their loved ones.

We all have the fundamental need to feel loved and connected. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself, your child, or your family. I’m here to support you in making the changes you want for a better life. My work focuses on helping when you feel unmotivated in life, sad, depressed, numb, lonely, or trapped, are self-harming, experience anxiety, panic attacks, eating issues, academic concerns, low self-esteem, and work and family conflicts. I lived in several countries and learned about their culture; this allows me to better connect with your culture and your identity group (i.e., LGBT+).

Clients come to my practice with a basic need to resolve inner conflicts, mood swings and anxiety. Most of my clients are high-functioning adults who simply want support in finding answers. More individuals come for weekly or bi-monthly therapy sessions to learn mindfulness skills and attain self-awareness. In the process they become increasingly able to form stable relationships at home and at work. Clients who come to the practice are assured of being offered a secure space which is confidentiality compliant. They do find answers. They see change.

How can I find a therapist in Downtown Core, Singapore?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counsellors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
