Clients seek safe avenues to speak without being judged, to be heard, and to be validated. This space also enables them to gain a deeper perspective on their struggles and challenges. For me, counselling is a collaborative experience of understanding the areas of concern, gaining new insights, building on strengths, and identifying client's needs and goals.

Have you ever thought about your life purpose? Do you feel lost and without direction? Do you ever find yourself pulled between what you want and what others want for you and too afraid to be your true self? You probably have lots of things you love doing, goals and dreams you want to achieve but your life is filled with obligations, commitments and the expectations of others that you find yourself drifting further away from living a life that you want and truly deserve. Remember, we see the world not as it is but as we are and as you change the way you see, the world changes.

Do you struggle with addiction, depression, anxiety, or have you lost someone recently? Or do you just need a safe space to process your thoughts/behaviour/emotions? Life can be unpredictable, and during those times, it can be overwhelming. When it comes to tough times, sometimes it isn't the difficult period that makes it unbearable, but the lack of support. You are the author of your life, and just like any author you can get a writer's block from time to time, what you need is support, coaching, encouragement, and skills to move forward. Counselling can provide you with all the tools you need to overcome those tough times.

But many times because of increased stress and tension in life (either due to workplace or family issues) we find it difficult to access that potential within and thus, we suffer from different health problems. My passion is to help individuals & couples come out of their problems & rediscover happiness in their life. From my personal experience of 8+ years, I can confidently say that taking help during the difficult times and using the psychological services can save an individual from many personal and professional problems.

I help clients of all ages, races and genders (Including non-gender specific) all over the world. Every human is born into the world innocent but somewhere along the way we may have gotten 'lost'. Perhaps when we were children we grew up in unsafe surroundings and built an armour around us or in our adulthood, life threw us a curve ball. Unresolved emotions often; if not always, create health issues. They also show up as as negative behaviours or difficult emotions such a anger, rage, depression, anxiety, etc. By coming to this page, you took the first step! Well Done!

Samantha is a clinical psychologist, she believes the same procedure cannot work on everyone as everybody is unique. For this reason, she goes the extra mile and modifies her techniques to cater to the very personal needs of her clients. She sometimes uses multiple techniques and a combination of them to provide her clients with whatever suits the best to them.  Hypnosis, Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic are some of the methods she uses. She considers the goal of her practice is to see her clients living a fulfilling life and enjoying it at its best within themselves and with their loved ones.

I believe there is no ideal client. But one that has pain or a struggle hidden behind a facade that society had dictated in terms of the individual roles we need to fulfill in our lives. Hidden behind the "shoulds" and the "musts". All people really yearn for is for someone to hold a non-judgmental space for them to voice their unsaid thoughts and emotions, to feel heard, respected, connected, seen, felt and significant.

ADHD or addictions have an impact on your quality of life. You will have a more difficult time than the others achieving the same level of success and joy. You wonder why you can't do it if others can. You realised that not only do you have to deal with your self-doubt and low self-esteem, but your social and professional relationships are also affected. To cope, you put on a 'I'm fine' mask. Hoping that others will believe in you and begin to trust you If they do, you will feel hollow on the inside because they do not know the true you. If they don't, you feel even worse about yourself. This is a lose-lose situation in either case.

I am a registered counsellor with the SAC and a practicum supervisor of William Glasser Institute. I've experienced working in a community and hospital setting. I am very passionate about raising mental health awareness through professional and affordable talks and workshops in the area of such as suicide prevention and trauma. I believe that the essence of change lies in living by the principle of choice theory, the process of identifying the pictures in our quality world, evaluating how we are or not meeting those need-satisfying pictures. I've also presented in local and overseas conferences.

You can't seem to quiet the thoughts in your head. You keep replaying different scenarios. You analyze what you could have done differently. Some days you barely recognize yourself . The guilt is eating you up inside. Your thoughts keep you isolated and feeling lonely. You feel unsatisfied in your relationships. How can you possibly give anything to someone else when you are feeling this way? There's so much you need to get done but you feel stuck and unmotivated. You lay awake at night overthinking. You wake up feeling hopeless, unsure how you will get through another day.

How can I find a therapist in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore?

Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
