Taking the first step to begin therapy can be very challenging. I strive to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to discuss/explore any issues you are experiencing. By deepening your ability to be introspective and self-compassionate, we can explore any negative thinking patterns/habits that may be interfering with you making changes in your life. My style is warm, compassionate, empathetic, and collaborative, but also direct and solution-focused. I specialize in working with children/teens/young adults, and have experience engaging even the most reluctant young people to promote positive change.
I have a particular interest in working with clients who are challenged by anxiety, depression, interpersonal trauma/abuse, & sexual abuse/behaviour issues. My practice is informed by literature, research & ongoing professional development. I have many hours of combined training in the areas of CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, & Mindfulness-based approaches.
You are the 'expert' on your life, so I strive to tailor our sessions to your specific needs, values and strengths, using a variety of approaches.
