Waitlist for new clients
I find that I work very well with those who have experienced abuse/trauma at any point in life and those that are suffering from grief and loss.
Please call to be added to the waitlist- I aim to to provide a space where I sit with, support, and at times, guide others to rediscover their most balanced selves. I specifically choose the word balanced because I understand that we cannot strive for things to be successful, or even happy, all of the time. Life will always present challenges, but I work to help my clients find the strength to meet those challenges when they arrive, to cope and find recovery when those challenges knock us down, and to soak up the moments and sense of contentment that exist when the challenges are not present (or at least are less present).

Using mind-body-spirit therapies, we focus on resilience, what and you love, how you have dealt with past issues, what you have already created or accomplished in life. What is your "intention" personally, in relationships, for work/creativity? Anxiety, depression, trauma, living well with chronic pain, health, relationships, work place, loss of meaning or direction in life, and creative performance. I am best suited to clients who are interested in incorporating body-mind modalities as well as "talk". Teleconferencing (Zoom, FaceTime) works very well . In person is available.

I have treated clients with Depression, Trauma, Grief, Divorce, etc.
Do you aspire to feel more contentment or support to reach your goals? If you do and want to work with a warm, non-judgmental, experienced therapist, who gets results, then reach out to me. Clients over the years report that they quickly feel at ease with me, which allows them to feel safe, accepted, and open. To assist the clients, I identify negative thought patterns and issues that may have been impeding their growth & progress & then create an achievable plan. Over the past 20 years, I have worked with children, teens & adults from all backgrounds within the educational and private sectors.

Now, as a psychologist, I am doing the same; exploring people's thoughts, feelings and actions in relation to anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss.
Coming from Ireland, I am down to earth with a sense of humour. I have been counselling people in a variety of health settings for more than a decade. People have many things going on in their lives. I help by listening, understanding and encouraging people to unpack what they are experiencing and to consider other perspectives.

Whether you want to address past experiences or build a different future for yourself, deciding to go to therapy can be a difficult step. It is important to me that I provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for you to explore whatever brings you to counselling. People are not “one size fits all” and I use a variety of therapies to meet my clients where they are at and help them achieve their goals. My interests lie in working with adults with a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, infertility, eco-grief, self-compassion, life transitions, relationships, and supporting survivors of trauma and sexual violence.

Whether we believe it or not, our lived experiences have created a core belief about ourselves and influences a core language we use to describe ourselves, which prevents us from being our authentic self or the desire to change. Here's a truth, you have permission. You have the permission to change, to grow, to develop, to advocate for what you need, create new habits and, to unlearn and learn again. The beauty in the journey is you don’t have to do it alone and I’m here to journey with you.

Welcome! Let's face it, therapy isn't fun or easy: it's about problem solving! I am a registered psychologist and have been working in the field of psychology for over 15 years. I work with a diverse clientele with a wide range of concerns but what I have truly recognized is the importance of relationships to our satisfaction in life. Specializing in relationships means I work with couples and individuals who are struggling with their closest and most important relationships We have a biological need to connect, to belong, and our close relationships fill this need.

Are you a woman with lower desire than her partner? Are you struggling to reach orgasm? Is sex painful, impossible, or simply not fun or pleasurable? Perhaps you’re worried about the impact of these problems on your relationship, or a satisfying sex life is really important to you. Maybe it feels like you’re missing out on something important that everyone else seems to be enjoying. You’re not sure what's wrong, what’s normal, what to do, or where to get help. Counselling is a safe place to discuss these kinds of concerns. Clients often tell me that they appreciate the nonjudgmental space we create together.

On the outside, you are a professional/executive who has everything! Yet, on the inside, you struggle with anxiety, impostor syndrome, overthinking, feeling stuck and defective. You even feel guilty and "ungrateful" for being dissatisfied with your life, and for not spending enough quality time with your loved ones. In fact, you feel lonely at times. You can tell that your work life is negatively impacted by your difficulties; your biggest fear is that one day, you will lose everything you worked so hard for, and that you will never achieve the work and personal lives, as well as the romantic relationship, you yearn for.

My beliefs about therapy are best captured by Emily McDowell, who said, "finding yourself is actually returning to yourself. An unlearning, an excavation, a remembering who you were before the world got its hands on you." I believe that the road to happiness involves shedding patterns, beliefs and pain no longer needed. I am a great fit for anyone who has a sense of humour, appreciates straight-forwardness and authenticity, and seeks a therapist who shows up as their real and genuine self.

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
