As an individual and family counsellor/therapist, I work alongside youth and adult clients to explore mental health challenges, life transitions, neurodivergence, couple and family relationships, and alleviating the impact of oppressive social structures on mental wellbeing. I have a particular interest in supporting folks who are seeking a deeper understanding of the impact of their environment and their intersecting identities and experiences on their wellbeing and sense of self. I offer therapy in English and Arabic for individuals and families in British Columbia and Ontario.
My method is integrative and incorporates elements of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, emotion-focused therapy and attachment theories; tailored to meet each individual client’s values, needs, and strengths. My work is grounded in social justice and culturally-affirming perspectives and takes a person-in-environment approach.
I will support you in identifying your strengths, fostering self-acceptance and self-compassion as you navigate life’s transitions and challenges. We will explore the underlying emotions and/or unmet needs of your behaviours, thoughts and anxieties that may no longer be conducive to your growth. We will identify more helpful strategies that meet your needs.
