My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that healing occurs within a safe and trusting relationship, whether with oneself, one’s environment, or another person. I also believe that every client is an expert in their own experience. I, therefore, approach therapy from a strength-based perspective, aiming to build relationships with clients, understand their needs, help them set goals that align with their unique needs and personal strengths, and explore available solutions that lead us toward these therapeutic goals. As a Metis therapist, I am also particularly sensitive to the needs of Indigenous people.
I practice from a culturally sensitive perspective that respects the unique experiences of all people. Together, we can explore issues relating to stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, grief/loss, identity, shame, emotional regulation, traumatic experiences, and any other issue that would benefit from a friendly and insightful conversation.
Reaching out for help in times of need can often be overwhelming. Therefore, it is important to acknowledge that seeking therapeutic support takes substantial bravery and courage. With this in mind, I strive to prioritize a safe, empathetic, and respectful space in which comfort, validation, and understanding are prioritized.
