My approach to counselling comes from the perspective that people have the capacity to adapt to their experiences and environment. I believe that healing is best supported in connection with others and I view the counselling relationship as an integral part of change. I help clients make sense of how their life experiences are affecting their current personal challenges, behaviour patterns, and relationship distress, using brain-based approaches to help clients reconnect with their true selves. I emphasize holistic care, facilitating secure attachments within a client’s network to promote optimal development and meaningful change.
I have a deep understanding of development, interpersonal relationships, parenting, and trauma and resilience. I am conscious of the ways that systems, structures, and culture impact individuals, families and communities. I enjoy working with children, youth, and adults. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am lgbtqsia+ friendly
I work from a client-centered approach, walking alongside clients to support them as they process their experiences and emotions to develop insight, resilience, and to flourish.
