I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist supporting people (13+) with OCD, phobias, anxiety, and mood-related difficulties. I have a particular interest in the “stickiness” of OCD, particularly how intrusive thoughts, doubt, and compulsions can quietly take over daily life. I offer a thoughtful, collaborative space where we can slow things down, make sense of these patterns, and help you respond differently to difficult thoughts and feelings so you can move through the world with more freedom and meaning. Exposure work can feel confronting and messy at times, but we’ll approach it slowly together at a pace that feels manageable.

I have experience helping teens, adults and elder adults with various mood & personality disorders.
Hi, my name is Divya, and I am a registered psychologist with a passion to support and empower individuals in their mental health journey. Our past traumas and experiences shape how we view and interact with the world, often influencing our responses and emotions. Without proper support, we may develop unhelpful coping mechanisms, leading to unresolved pain and making life overwhelming. This can manifest as anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, low self-esteem, etc. With these inner-conflicts, seeking to start understanding yourself better and learning to adopt healthier coping skills is a brave step to transform and heal.

Sometimes, we reach a point where thinking things through on our own stops being enough, and having a structured space to untangle what’s happening becomes necessary. Therapy can help you regain clarity and a more grounded sense of direction. I am a registered counsellor and logotherapist working with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain despite trying to make sense of their lives. I offer a calm, accepting and attentive space where we make sense of what’s happening and then move toward practical improvements.

I am an easy going psychologist who doesnt take things too seriously, however I still love to produce results. I have a wealth of experience under the NDIS, but do delve into private, work cover, CTP and victims services to broaden my experience. I like to ensure I am the right psychologist first, and try to help refer out to someone who is suitable if I am not.

I previously worked as a youth mental health clinician at Headspace and hold additional training in ADHD coaching and trauma-informed care.
I work with adults, young people, and parents. Many of my clients identify with ADHD or are exploring a possible diagnosis. Some have a recent diagnosis and feel unsure what it means. Others have lived with it for years and feel exhausted from trying to keep up. I also work with clients who carry the impact of trauma, including those who feel stuck in patterns of overwhelm, avoidance, or self-criticism. Often, clients come in feeling frustrated with themselves. They have tried strategies that do not work and are looking for a different way to understand what is happening.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
