I am a Counselling Psychologist with a passion for human relationships and supporting people. I am devoted to promoting the mental health of others and empowering them to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. It is deeply fulfilling for me to witness people thrive and grow personally. I feel privileged to experience and to have the opportunity to provide a safe, holding space for people to share in their joys and achievements but also collaborate with them to explore aspects of themselves and resolve their challenges.

I want to help others turn their wounds into wisdom by meeting people where they are, and walking alongside them to where they want to be. I was drawn to the helping profession through my love for relationships, and a deep desire to understand emotional, as well as mental processes by helping one navigate their life’s journey. I have a passion for mindfulness and helping individuals achieve personal growth.

I am a firm believer in Heal - Grow - Thrive. I am passionate about people's well-being and believe everyone deserves a chance to better themselves. Counselling is all about working on yourself for yourself. I believe clients should set their own counselling goals as they know themselves best. However, when setting these goals, every step they give towards their goal, small and big, should be acknowledged. I don't view my clients as having issues or problems but rather life challenges, and to that I say.. let's face them together! My areas of specialty include marriage/couple's counselling, counselling children using play therapeutic techniques, psychometric assessments to assist with career counselling and subject choice, suicidality, mood and behavioural changes, sexual identity concerns, transitions, family counselling, trauma, bereavement/grief/loss and anger management.

I enjoy assisting people to realize their full potential. This may mean they are currently struggling with issues or trauma and need to be guided through the healing process. Alternatively, they are not currently living up to their potential and we will work together to assist them in unlocking their true capabilities.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist and I am passionate about my work. I am inspired by diversity and the strength of the human psyche. My aim is to help the individuals find a sense of self amongst the disarray of their symptoms. The self so easily gets misrepresented by symptoms and the true person does not have a voice. Pelaelo Masalesa is a Clinical Psychologist in full time private practice. I have worked with a variety of diverse groups across different races, languages, etc. My private practice offers Physical One-on-One consultations, virtual consultations, short & long term therapies, and child/play therapy for children as young as 5 years old. My practice is informed by an Integrative Practice Model. I work with children and adults that are in need of any therapeutic intervention or family assessments such as Residency, Contact and Care Investigations, Socio-Emotional Assessments, Interactional Analysis Investigations, Child Participation (Voice of the Child) and Child Abuse Investigations. I provide services to clients that have been victimised by sexual abuse. My interventions are focused on attachment within the family context, and I have co-developed a program for sex and love addiction. Medical Aid does not cover any assessment evaluations.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and in private practice for 20+ years. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and groups, works client- and solution focused. It is important to me to strengthen strengths and coping skills that clients do have to positively empower them to face the challenges that they experience.

The beauty of therapy is that it can be helpful to everyone. Therapy is designed to assist people with a wide variety of issues from grief, job stress and relationship hurdles to personality disorders, depression, and anxiety. There is no set type of person that needs to be in therapy. You will be given a safe and protected environment to explore your most vulnerable emotions, memories, actions and thoughts. Sometimes you may laugh or you may cry, but you can expect therapy to be a space dedicated to you. It allows the freedom for self-exploration and healing without judgement or restriction.

In the more than 30 years of working with people from all walks of life, I know that we all have a need to live a life of meaning and purpose.
