I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, providing individual therapy to adolescents, adults, and families. I strive to provide a safe, confidential, and supportive environment in which healing and restoration is fostered. With a decade of post-graduate experience, I am passionate about providing a holistic approach to treatment, including mind, body, and spirit in the treatment process. My philosophy of healing is like working your way through a set of nesting dolls from the outer doll representing why you want to heal: trauma, attachment/relationship injury, depression, grief, and anxiety. The next doll holds the symptoms, thoughts, and feelings of the first doll. The next doll may may hold your negative beliefs you have perceived about yourself, others, and the world. The next doll may hold consequences and life impairments. The final doll represents your core and authentic self. The person you would be without all of the other dolls in relationship to the unity of mind, soul, heart, body and spirit.

I consider myself a neuro-psychotherapist. I enjoy working with people who want to feel differently and are ready for the things that they know are true to feel true. I help facilitate change for those who would like to have the stresses or large events of the past not have so much power and control over them in the present. As a generalist, I have experience working with many different people who seek help for a multitude of difficulties. My experience in private practice empowered me to conduct individual and group counseling sessions as well as crisis intervention. I approach psychotherapy work with a holistic focus and applies evidence-based practices. I will also help you build your treatment plan through a collaborative process that aligns with your individual healthcare goals.

I strongly believe that everyone is unique and everyone’s story is unique; therefore, different approaches are essential in working with a wide variety of people. I am a true believer in the concept of “words shape beliefs” and, in that vein, saying “I do not know” or “please help” are powerful words since vulnerability often leads to growth and healing. One of my favorite quotes is by Viktor Frankl who said "When we are no longer able to change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves."

The longest journey begins with a single step and I am grateful to walk that path with you. It can be frightening and intimidating to begin the process of therapy; however, that experience can help you to make the changes that lead to a happier and more fulfilled life. Through a collaborative and safe relationship I establish with my clients, progress and change is made.
