Life is a journey comprised of various relationships which are often challenged by change. Changes in relationships are often overwhelming and cause stress, anxiety, quilt, grief, or trauma. The diagnosis of a life-limiting illness, a death, being the caregiver for someone with a chronic illness, dealing with end-of-life issues, or divorce at times is overwhelming and frustrating. During these experiences, it is important to have someone who will listen to understand your experience. I have training and experience in companioning those who are navigating a stressful time in a relationship changed by loss or illness.

I do this by helping you identify the areas of your life that need some work through insight, identifying patterns that are no longer working even if they did a wonderful job of helping you survive in the past, reworking emotional responses that no longer align with your current values or just being there supporting you as you process difficult emotions. I believe in the power of therapy to help people escape the grip of the trauma: I work with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, abusive relationships, rape and sexual violence, terrorism, and political violence. I am a Licensed Master's Social Worker, Air force veteran who profoundly cares about life experience. I graduated with a Master’s in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. I am supervised by Jackson Wiggins LCSW-S. Life is hard, finding a good therapist shouldn't be. As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe space for you. I am aware that no two people are the same, so I work closely with clients to explore their concerns and therapeutic goals. Being vulnerable is one of the biggest hurdles when you are seeing a therapist. I build strong therapeutic bonds by being non-judgmental and open to your life experiences.

Directive therapy is a guided processes in which the client learns how their experiences have shaped their emotions, behaviors, and thinking - determining the course of their destiny. In this process, the client will learn to transform their thinking to bring the change they long for. Unlike other forms of therapy, directive therapy allows the client to see the therapist at work, as the therapist updates the client from session to session on how their analysis is progressing, how their problem is structured, and how to effect meaningful change
