The reality is: life is difficult. There, I said it–life is hard. We get thrown curve balls every single day and feel the pressure to hide from the world, from others, and from ourselves. From depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship conflicts, trauma, and even sexual identity confusion, figuring out our way in the world is not an easy task. You may have even discovered solutions that worked in the short term are not as effective. I believe that therapy is a partnership. I want to come alongside you and support you in your journey. You no longer have to travel this path alone.
We will work together to understand what you want in your life and more specifically, what you want to change. By learning how to accept those things outside of your control, we will strive to empower your commitment and action towards the things you can control. The solution to your problems will align your values with the meaningful life you desire.
I have a great deal of experience working with sexuality, identity, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss and relationship issues. For individual psychotherapy, the approaches I use most frequently are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
