I began my career as an inpatient clinician and hospital social worker serving all ages, a variety of mental health issues, backgrounds, genders, and economic disparities. My primary focus as a hospital social worker was on the Labor and Delivery Unit as a support for new parents, particularly mothers. I also worked in the NICU supporting parents of premature babies. I’m extremely passionate about perinatal and postpartum mental health! Maternal mental health is no longer taking a back burner!

Dominique Darby is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 11 years of experience in the mental health field. Dominique is intentional about helping others live the life they've imagined. She demonstrates compassion throughout her work with adolescents and adults, and actively supports them as they address their unique challenges. Dominique specializes in depression, anxiety, relationship issues, major life problems, women's issues, ADHD/ADD, and parenting issues.

My goal in working with you is to support you in processing your life experiences and to empower you through the use of relevant therapeutic resources. These resources could include: cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art therapy, meditation/flow state, solution-focused therapy, and positive psychology. As a therapist, I also believe that taking a holistic approach is incredibly important to personal growth, which means examining all parts of your life: spiritual, physical, mental, nutritional, and relational.

My ideal client is anyone that has experienced an unexpected curveball to the head and is feeling like they cannot stand back up after passing out and wonder if they even want to try or even worse, wonder if they have the skills necessary. The greatest joy I experience in my clinical work is sitting across from from client's from different backgrounds and thoughts than my own. I particularly enjoy working with client's with addiction, relationship issues, loss of purpose, death and loss, and client's that 'should' all over the place.

As a counselor, my goal is to provide therapy to clients who are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, ADD/ADHD, grief/loss, and life transitions. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and identify as an ally of this community. It is my hope that my clients will be able to learn the skills they need to live a life driven by what's important to them.
