I am passionate about the work that I do and always see the possibility of health and happiness in others. I have worked with domestic violence victims since 2001 and have expertise in this area. I work with children, adolescents and adults. I partnered with several organizations locally over the years such as the Juvenile Wellness Court, Rape Crisis Center (PARC), and the Child Advocacy Center. I especially enjoy helping adolescents and parents communicate and operate in a healthier way.

My clinical focus is bodily, emotional recovery from trauma, adverse childhood experience, loss, grief, depression and anxiety. I use Accelerated Resolution Therapy and hypnotherapy as primary tools for trauma, PTSD, and adverse childhood events (ACE).

I work with adolescents and adults. I have experience working with clients that are struggling with anxiety, depression, women’s issues, sexuality issues, marriage issues, grief, existential issues, and trauma. Prior to beginning my own private practice, I worked with mental health agencies, residential treatment centers, and various local schools to provide counseling services to those in need.

As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, it is my goal to help clients build the relationships and life they desire. This may be due to past or present trauma, divorce, anxiety, mental health issues, or other situations in life. You may need someone to guide you through those difficult moments to find the healing and peace you desire. The therapeutic interventions I use will assist you in finding those things. Through a trustworthy client and counselor relationship, we can discover how to find healing to have a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Many people are hesitant to seek counseling because they prefer to focus solely on others, even as they suffer in silence. I believe in the concept of helping my clients work through issues that are negatively affecting their functioning and preventing them from being their best selves. I strive to create an environment of support and acceptance in which we can work collaboratively, drawing on their strengths to reduce the impact of those negative core beliefs and thoughts that are holding them back. Additionally, I have training in EMDR, which can help clients who have experienced trauma.

When individuals experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. You may start noticing you're have a hard time focusing or falling asleep, or that you're feeling more anxious or depressed than usual. My great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through traumatic or stressful experiences. I help my clients, including adolescents and adults, find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships to know themselves as peaceful, complete, whole, and safe.

I have worked extensively with adolescents, at risk children, and adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, anger management issues, self-esteem issues, behavioral issues, and substance abuse issues. I also work with children and adults who have suffered trauma and experience symptoms of PTSD, ADHD, and ADD. I sometimes incorporate physical activity into the therapeutic process. This "active therapy" can be especially helpful in working with issues of self esteem, anxiety, depression, and addiction. In addition to "active therapy", I have also found that meditation and mindfulness can be especially helpful for children who have trouble with focus and concentration.

Accepting new clients... It is a sign of strength and courage to ask for support. Life is full of unpredictable twists and turns and having some encouragement along the way can be very helpful. I enjoy working with all ages, cultures and those experiencing a wide range of challenges. My specialties are in working with children and adults who are or may think they are on the autism spectrum.
