I have experience working with a diverse population from adolescents to adults suffering from addiction and substance abuse, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and trauma. I focus on psycho-education, incorporating evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, to help enrich and enhance the lives of those who in need.

Mindy has been practicing psychotherapy in Milwaukee County for more than 10 years. She enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults and practices from an integrated approach utilizing Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy modalities and believing that the client is the expert on their own experiences. She specializes in depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, major life transitions and stress management. Mindy appreciates physical and spiritual health’s effects on a person’s mental and emotional wellbeing and supports exploring each of these aspects within the therapeutic setting.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with a passion for empowering individuals, I bring a blend of narrative and person-centered therapy to my practice. My work is deeply rooted in the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives. I received my Bachelor's in Psychology and my graduate degree in Counseling with a Clinical Mental Health concentration from Mount Mary University. I am passionate about helping others with their mental health journey. I come from a background of working in inpatient and residential care with clients ages 11 and up. I have experience in various areas such as: Anxiety, Adolescent Issues, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, Grief & Loss, Self-Esteem, Self-Harm, Social Anxiety, Substance Use, and Suicidal Thoughts.

I am very passionate about working with people of all experiences and ages. I especially am passionate about working with children and adolescents and have the most experience working with the adolescent age group. I am interested in treating mental disorders and symptoms such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, autism-spectrum disorder, personality disorders, and more. There are times in our lives when we feel lost, trapped or unable to find peace in our daily routine. We try to cope and find solace, but may end up feeling more defeated. While it may feel impossible, I believe we all have immense strength and resilience to find our way. In order to find that inner strength, I believe it is essential to discover what is causing the symptoms. Through this uncovering, we can start our journey of healing and growth. I facilitate awareness and deeper understanding to the what and why these thoughts are all consuming. At your own pace, I offer space to challenge patterns that no longer serve you.

I enjoy working to celebrate the individualism and uniqueness of each client. I have a special interest in diversity and am passionate about supporting clients who may be struggling with challenges related to immigration status, sexual orientation/gender identity, racial and cultural identity, etc. My treatment approach uses characteristics of trauma informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral activation.

My therapeutic style is direct and pragmatic, however, I can adapt it to fit client needs.

I am purposed to love and to serve. Helping to healing are my calling. I did not always understand what my plan was in life, but I knew that what I nurtured by nature was a gift that I could not allow to be in vein. Externally, I appeared well put together and as if I had it all, but in this journey called Life, I realized that internally some things were missing. In God’s image, we are created in three parts: mind, body, and spirit. When those three elements are not in intricate unity with one another an internal imbalance can exist. Currently, I am an LPC licensed in two states: Michigan and Wisconsin.
