James spent ten years providing outpatient services where he observed that mental illness and chemical dependence issues, otherwise known as “co-occurring disorders” were low priority. As a clinician with over 25 years of experience, my first goal is to understand you, your circumstances, and where you have come from to help you achieve your goals and improve your well-being. My training includes both doctoral and master’s degrees in social work. I also hold a master’s degree in pastoral counseling and specialize in Christian counseling for those seeking a faith-based perspective. My areas of specialty practice include working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, guilt, addiction, grief and loss, and challenges related to past hurts, life transitions, and relationship and family problems.

I work with adults experiencing challenges with parenting neurodiversity and children with additional needs, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, postpartum anxiety and depression, transitioning to motherhood and other phase of life issues, and anxiety. I have extensive experience working with substance use disorders and behavioral addiction. My work experiences include individual and family therapy, residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, and supervision.
