Counseling is to assist clients with embodying self-awareness, and achieving a higher level of emotional and mental standards while reflecting on their past, current, and future opportunities. Clients will be guided to implement these tools to overcome past obstacles and potential barriers to moving forward. The ultimate goal is for clients to envision the transition of previous challenges upon entering therapy, to opportunities that will provide elevation towards their future goals and self. It has been said that: "God uses our deepest pain as a launchpad for our highest calling". However, a lot of the times we become immobilized by the pains we have endured. My goal in counseling is to remind believers and non-believers that there is hope past the pain, shame, and doubt they are experiencing; through modalities of individual, couples, family and pre-marital counseling.Do not let shame and doubt rule over you any longer but instead gain insight and authenticity as you understand your Creator, your process and yourself more fully.

My specialties include addiction/substance use, marriage/couples, depression, anxiety, and trauma informed care. I also teach graduate level counselor education courses at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and am finishing my doctorate in behavioral health (DBH) at Arizona State University (ASU). I am also an ordained minister and enjoy working with all populations which include the LGBTQ community.

I am a Sexual Recovery Therapist (SRT) with specialization in sexual addictions and couples/marriages. I also work extensively with teens struggling with sexual compulsivity issues. My clients learn to replace destructive behaviors and avoidance of intimacies through healthy and meaningful interactions. As a pastor for three decades, I also have a passionate desire to assist pastors and their spouses. Pastors face some unique challenges in maintaining sexual purity and having healthy marriages. I offer them a safe, confidential, and proven place to find solutions.

I believe in the natural ability we all have to overcome adversity. As a psychotherapist, I work with clients facing mental health, emotional, and quality of life challenges. I have a strong foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy, but also apply psycholanalytical for its strengths with your individualized needs.
