Life events can impact us in ways we couldn’t have imagined and at times we least expect it. These events can elicit parts of us that experience confusion, anxiety, overwhelm, and sadness or lead us to fall into patterns that may not make sense. Perhaps you’d like support to bring a sense of clarity, connection, and confidence within yourself and within your relationships, or to develop and heighten a passion and vitality for life. I recognize that your goals are unique to you and are honored in the therapeutic process.

I am hoping you find the support you need to solve your conflicts and improve your quality of life.
My approach begins with guiding female young adults and adults in understanding and managing their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we establish a safe and supportive relationship for optimal self-learning and personal growth. We create strategies for lifetime success through the use of customized activities and evidence based therapies, that develop awareness and promote healing. Individuals are taught and encouraged to practice self-regulation skills and techniques to improve outlook and quality of life. I use humor and a lighthearted approach, when appropriate, to bring a sense of comfort and ease to sessions.

Therapy is an investment, like anything that brings value to your life.
We're all doing the best we can with what we have to work with. However, life is always changing, and the tools we were given in the past, may not be working for us in the present. Counseling can act as a software update for your mind, clearing out old ideas, unprocessed emotion, and beliefs, that are holding you back from reaching your goals. I use EMDR therapy and other evidence-based modalities in my work. If you want to live your life more than think about it, and if you want your past to stop showing up uninvited in the present; then you may benefit from this unique, innovative, and holistic form of therapy.

Have you wondered where to begin? Have you thought you want things to be different, you want change, but don't know where to start? Sometimes the hurt is too much, or the fear is too great and we stop moving forward. We stall or we freeze. I have been privileged to have met and worked with many individuals who are trying to find their first step, or who are stalled and need a fresh set of eyes to help see the possibilities. I would be happy to join you in your journey to help you get to where you image is your best self. The first step is a phone call.

Finding the right therapist for you can be difficult. How do you determine if someone has the background and experience that is relevant to you as an individual? With over 24 years in practice, and a direct, caring approach, I try to provide a safe, non judgmental environment that is conducive to self exploration. As you gain insight into yourself and you will also gain insight into others. This often results in feeling more connected with those around you. My clients often report they feel freer and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.

I will help you gain insight into your behavioral and thinking patterns: often the result of major life events.
When you take the time to prioritize your mental health you will find you have more time for everyone else in your life. I specialize in supporting busy professionals who struggle with the pressures of perfectionism, high stress, burnout, negative self talk, addiction, and imposter syndrome. I understand the quiet shame and stigma that often come with seeking help, and how this can lead to isolation, inadequacy, fear, depression, and anxiety. I am here to help! Your past does not dictate your future. Mental health takes work just as getting physically fit does.

I hope that after the first session with me, my clients feel like they have a plan moving forward and are hopeful that counseling can improve their life.
I approach each session with an open mind and without judgment. Creating a supportive space is very important to my work with clients and allows each session to count . I have worked with people from all walks of life and all levels of emotional and mental wellness. Over the last 14 years, most of my sessions included Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavior approaches, however I select the most appropriate clinical approach for each of my clients.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
