Portneuf Valley Family Center is a locally owned company established in 2005. We are dedicated to providing quality mental health services in Southeast Idaho. To better serve our consumers, we currently have offices in Pocatello and Soda Springs. The staff members at PVFC have years of training and experience working with children, adolescents, and adults as well as with couples and families who struggle with a wide range of difficult issues.

Individuals, couples, and families experience trauma, stressors, and circumstances outside their control throughout life. Such times can leave us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from ourselves and others. We are relational beings, wired for connection, yet sometimes we get caught in negative interaction cycles, often driven by the same unmet needs. I help couples uncover those underlying unmet needs, emotions, and perceptions and then facilitate a pattern of turning toward each other rather than away.

Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and new mom! I am happy you are taking time to consider support for your mental well-being. Dealing with depression, anxiety, and trauma can be incredibly difficult and often quite lonely. I would like to be a support to anyone that is struggling with mental health concerns and help you find effective ways of managing and reducing the stresses that life can bring.

Alec's educational journey began at Boise State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in communication. Through his studies, he honed his ability to connect with people, effectively convey ideas, and truly understand people's stories. Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been called to serve and help others navigate their way through this journey called life. I have plenty of years of experience working with individuals from all walks of life. I would classify myself as an eclectic individual and approach situations from various lenses. I do however, specialize in trauma informed care. I am EMDR trained and believe in meeting people where they are, providing unconditional positive regard and finding congruence within each story. I have experience working with depression, addiction, anxiety, couples, family systems, children and much more.

We are a group of Psychotherapists who provide treatment for an extensive range of mental and emotional disorders using psychological techniques aimed to improve a person’s overall psyche. We work with adults of all ages, adolescents and children as young as four. All of our Psychotherapists are Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists with extensive training in counseling psychology. Psychotherapy is a means of intentionally using various communication methods and techniques to alleviate a person’s distress and disability, and to improve their overall well being. This may involve individuals, couples, families and/or groups.

My focus is helping teens and adults address symptoms of anxiety and depression caused by various difficult life experiences, and to develop skills supporting your desire for improved communication, relationships, personal growth, resilience and self-esteem.
