The goal is often not just to manage symptoms, rather to completely eliminate them. I utilize a variety of models customized to the needs of each unique individual.

My love of counseling stems from an intense desire to act as a catalyst in the process of helping clients achieve their goals. I believe that the counseling relationship is unique in that the counselor is only as successful as the client. The symbiotic relationship between counselor and client should be made up of trust, acceptance, respect, and a desire to mutually work hard to create a more fulfilling life.

I offer both in person and video sessions. I provide outpatient counseling services including individual, family and virtual counseling.

I have extensive experience helping clients work through trauma, improve communication skills, decrease stress, and build additional coping strategies in order to improve their current quality of life. Educated and trained at Rutgers, Harvard, Savannah State, and the University of Pennsylvania, Michael Mack started his career over 25 years ago at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic, where he focused in Structural Family Therapy (SFT) developed by Salvador Minuchin, a pioneer in child and adolescent therapy. In addition, he has been trained by the Beck Institute and Linehan Institute/Behavioral Tech in evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

I use a strengths based, family/individual centered, solution focused approach to providing therapy. I believe that everyone can improve their situation if they want to, and structure my sessions so that the you and I work as a team to navigate through various issues and hopefully arrive at a place where you are comfortable to move on without therapy.

I am an LGTQIA+ affirming therapist who focuses on relationship issues as well as individual support of clients from all walks of life in anger management, depression, anxiety, and conflict resolution. I also have experience dealing with food addiction and overcoming internal struggles that result in obesity. Dating culture today is also not the same as it once was which comes with the changes social media and apps bring to the game. The loneliness and feelings of disposability or rejection that many of us face are focuses that are near and dear to my heart.

I believe in the family, no matter what shape it takes, as an essential part of a healthy life. Cultivating family connection and communication is at the heart of the work that I do as therapist.
