Anxiety is my passion. I, too, have been there and understand. I have provided therapy for adults and adolescents in a variety of settings for over 20 years as a Licenced Professional Counselor, each person is unique, and I will work with you to meet your needs by helping you grow through the use of research-based treatment modalities. Specializing in anxiety and trauma issues, I know therapy is not a relationship to enter into lightly. Julie received her bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. She earned her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University. Julie currently works with young adults, adults, and couples. Her collaborative style focuses on the goals of the client, cultivating a space for growth, and understanding of the client’s lived experience. Julie’s therapeutic approach is grounded in emotionally focused and collaborative theory which allows her to tailor treatment to individual needs within a wide scope of client demographics including LGBTQIA+, gender diverse individuals, and CNM partners.

Brittany graduated from Capella University with her master's in clinical mental health and is currently licensed as an Associate Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, in the state of Georgia. Brittany is currently in her doctorate in counselor education and supervision. Brittany works closely with adults, young adults, college students, and families. Brittany works closely with her clients so they can achieve their therapeutic goals.

I consider play and storytelling in all its forms to be a powerful tool and will often utilize Adventure Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy and Yoga therapy to help you navigate through life's challenges. I cater to couples, children, adolescents, adults and families within a relational model, integrating mindfulness, creativity, self-acceptance, spirituality, and a generous dose of play. So many times, I have heard people say that they have spent a great deal of coach time elsewhere before they tried EMDR. To see the relief and victory that they achieve by using EMDR in a relatively short period of time is just wonderful. EMDR is hard work, but the benefits of doing this therapy can last a lifetime.

We believe that healing happens through the connection between the therapist and client. Life is really hard! Relationships, trauma, loss, life stages, and the daily grind have affected every one of us, but there is healing and a story of reclamation of true self for each of us. Navigating our emotional response to life is tricky and often scary, but we can be empowered to feel victorious in our ability to take care of ourselves. In the context of a safe relationship between therapist and client, insight and re-experiencing life through compassionate eyes enables us to practice compassion for self.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia who has been in the mental health field for over 8 years. I graduated from The University of Georgia (Go DAWGS!) where I double majored in Human Development and Family Science and Psychology. I continued my training at UGA and obtained my Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology. I have experience working with adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, addiction, and family issues. I see myself as a conduit for helping people learn more about themselves and discovering their next steps to move forward in life.

I believe that while therapeutic work often covers some of the most difficult issues the human experience has to offer, it is crucial to provide an atmosphere that is experienced as positive towards healing. Often times, growth and healing seem overwhelming, but there is beauty to be found in it. I am always drawn to the line in a poem by Rumi that states, "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there." It is a summation of what therapy should be. Healing and growth are best found in places beyond judgement. It is truly an honor when you have the opportunity to meet someone in this space.
