Today, MIKID employs over 150 trained staff offering support, education, and skills development to families and their children as well as youth and young adults who are experiencing mental health and behavior challenges throughout Arizona and, most recently, Colorado. This is accomplished through MIKID staff providing one-on-one family support, transitional age youth services, peer support, health promotion, support groups, training and education, both individual and community-based living skills, and individual counseling

I earned my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling at The University of The Rockies. I am a compassionate counselor who meets a client where they are and offers what is necessary to move past the pain and come out on the other side. I enjoy working with Individuals, families, couples, women and girls who have a history of sexual abuse or sex trafficking, and parents of children with disabilities. I enjoy working with a variety of clients. The majority of my experience is Crisis Intervention and Trauma. I enjoy solution focused therapy and believe in empowering my clients to making positive changes in their life. I am trained in EMDR and which I find very successful in treating trauma and PTSD. I'm a licensed clinical social worker, with extensive experience working with seniors, I have a strong background dealing with chronic illness, grief and loss, women's issues, co-dependency, addiction, and a multitude of other subjects. Dr. Maureen White, Ed.D., LPC is a licensed professional counselor with over 20 years of clinical experience. She approaches therapy from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective, drawing upon dialectical therapy skills, EMDR skills, and a person-centered approach to individualize each person's treatment. Dr. White's extensive experience has equipped her with the skills and expertise to effectively address a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. She is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered.

My background is in school counseling and my passion is working with teens/kids. I worked for 3 years as a school counselor before switching to my LPC and doing private practice. There I also focused my practice on meeting the needs of teens/kids and working with families as well. I most recently worked in the community with a foster care agency, again working with kids/teens before going back to private practice. I do enjoy working with teens/families but also see individuals of all ages as well as couples.
