For over 25 years, I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan providing therapy to adolescents and adults with a variety of concerns and treatment needs. My name is Kori Agius and I received my MSW from Wayne State University. A call for therapy is placed because some area of life is just not working. As a psychologist, my focus is on assisting each individual, couple or family in working towards and reaching the goals that brought them in. Together, we identify the nature of the challenges being faced and work together to get life back on track. I practice as a family psychologist, working with whomever comes into my office. Each one of us is part of a bigger circle and thus the work also focuses on those with whom the person works or lives, as relevant.

The word "kairos" comes the Greek word meaning, "the opportune and decisive moment for change." I will support you through the counseling process while you search for continued joy and wellness in your life. Child and adolescent services are available to focus in on difficult attitudes, home or school behavior problems, parental divorce or separation issues. Adult counseling is needed to help in difficult life transitions, which may cause anxiety or depression. Couple counseling is available to help develop the necessary communication skills to enhance the relationship. Couples may have reached an impass due to the developmental stages of marriage.

I have I have been in private practice for almost 30 years. I see clients ages five and up for individual, group, couples and family counseling. I specialize in substance abuse and my agency is licensed by the state of Michigan. I provide the full range of mental health counseling, substance abuse services, screening and assessments, DLAD evaluations, alcohol safety education courses and drug testing. I accept most insurances and provide a warm and safe counseling environment.

Maria Tovar-Ruiz is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LPC, LAADC) who has over 24 years of experience specializing in helping clients who are suffering from symptoms related to depression, anxiety, life transitions, women’s issues, trauma, relationship concerns, self-esteem, anger management. and substance use. She strives to create a relationship where you feel fully acknowledged, valued, and seen for the unique person that you are.
