I have been a licensed psychologist for the past 32 years. I have always felt it is a privilege to work with people and help them achieve the life they desire. My approach is to help people look at past events and experiences which affect their mood and behaviors today and prevent them from getting what they want in life. Greetings! My name is Dr. Christine McAuliffe. Since "McAuliffe" can be a mouthful & takes way too much time to type (and not just for kiddos!), I also go by "Dr. M." As a clinical psychologist, my career has been focused on the needs of children, adolescents, young adults, parents and families utilizing a community-based, multi-systemic perspective. I have over 20 years' experience treating anxiety and stress-related problems. My practice specializes in the treatment of anxiety, panic, phobias, PTSD, and stress and anxiety related to medical conditions, especially lung diseases, cancer, IBS, tinnitus, and pain. I am also experienced in helping people who are having trouble with sleep and health-related behavior changes, such as increasing physical activity. My treatment approach is primarily cognitive-behavioral, and incorporates other complementary practices and techniques, including ACT, mindfulness, biofeedback and relaxation training.

I am a Registered Play Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in RI/MA, Certified Grief Counselor and recently became certified as a Facilitator of the Broken Bowl Technique. I attended the Expressive Arts Institute at Salve Regina University. I am a former Board Member of the New England Association for Play Therapy. I see clients ages 2-12 individually, but do involve family members. I am in the office weekdays. I am NOT accepting any court involved cases requiring contact with: lawyers/GAL/DCYF/and court letters, as well as those that require a higher level of care due to safety issues.

I am a Licensed Independent Certified Social Worker, with a Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work and a certificate in psychotherapy awarded by the State of New York. I have practiced for 30 years in New York City and New Jersey. My interests and experience include working with people suffering from depression and other emotional symptoms, as well as thought disorders.
