Hey there! Are you identifying as someone with trauma and anxiety (medical, complex, neglect, attachment, deployment, rape, accidents, caregivers, etc.)? I'm a trauma-informed/trauma-trained therapist who understands not all memories are stored in your brain. Physical aches/pains, that desire to duck out on social events, and your short temper all come from trying to keep yourself safe. Others call you “controlling” or “manipulative”. They don’t understand that order and predictability equals safety to a trauma survivor. But I do. “They” see the behavior as being the problem. I see the unmet need that is causing the behavior.
Through the use of TeleheaIth sessions, I help adults feel connected to their bodies and emotions and feel safer in their environments. I am trauma-informed and trained in EMDR, ego state therapy, Internal Family Systems, and anger management. I understand how the trauma brain protects, processes, and heals and I use these skills to help you.
With a trauma history or anxiety, it's hard to handle "normal life” sometimes. It seems everything is a trigger and nowhere feels safe. Telehealth sessions are held online so you pick the location where you feel safe. We meet once a week, to start.
