I especially enjoy assisting clients who are experiencing alarming or disturbing intrusive thoughts. I have been providing psychotherapy in a private practice setting since 1999. My areas of specialty are anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, phobias, depression, skin picking, and trichotillomania (hair pulling). I have extensive training for treatment of OCD and related disorders (BTTI and PTI). I work with clients using cognitive behavioral techniques.
These techniques help clients gradually expose themselves to feared situations or thoughts to ultimately reduce overall anxiety. While this might sound intimidating, this process takes place in a supportive environment without any pressure. I am often amazed by my client's bravery. I have a calm caring style that highlights client strengths.
