For over 25 years I have been helping people manage their reactions to loss associated with infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth and general bereavement issues.
I specialize in loss and bereavement. My work provides strength to people who are managing a loss. You may have experienced the loss of a partner, child, or parent. You may have undergone a pregnancy loss or have infertility struggles. Or you are dealing with a shift in a relationship or change at work. Coping with these situations is challenging. It is critical to get compassionate support and develop strategies to manage feelings associated with loss. It is okay to feel sad, and normal to even feel anger. I will help guide you to understand your feelings and develop mechanisms to manage your experience.

I can help address issues such as post partum depression, postpartum anxiety, issues with infertility, life transitions, relationship issues, anger management, social issues, self-esteem, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, parenting and child/adolescent development and personal growth.
I believe that the work of therapy is about developing a healthy relationship with oneself and with other people in your community in order to live a good and meaningful life. By providing a safe and non-judgmental environment, I can help you achieve this goal. I primarily work with women before, during and after pregnancy regarding issues of infertility and postpartum; with individuals, couples, families and small groups. My main practice is home-based.

We'll work through things like loss, unexpected outcomes, role transitions, trauma, and the far reaching effects of infertility.
Everyone has a story to untangle. What is yours? Sometimes life send ups and downs -leaving you confused and overwhelmed. Situations like family building can leave you feeling depressed, anxious, vulnerable, powerless, confused, and alone. I can help you to face these situations, to find the strength to make important decisions, to untangle upsetting thoughts, and to learn coping techniques to help you manage and understand these feelings. No one should suffer in silence, and no one should have to face these feelings alone. But besides support, we will work and heal. If you are invested in healing- thats what we will do!

I have particular interest and expertise in infertility and family building through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
With almost 20 years of experience, I combine clinical experience, intuitive knowledge, and genuine compassion to help clients achieve their goals. My practice consists of clients working on a broad range of issues – some with long standing emotional challenges; others facing situational stressors. Situational stressors are life occurrences or circumstances that may be temporary but create upset in one’s personal or professional life.

You deserve to be happy. Life can be difficult. Don't go it alone. Allow me to help you explore the things that are keeping you "stuck," whether it be relationships, career, health or addiction. Sometimes you just need to process feelings with an objective listener, one that can get to the heart of what's really going on and help you to live life in a more satisfying, productive manner. I have been helping individuals, couples and families move through crises and live happier, healthier lives. I can help you, too!

Psychotherapy is a confidential interpersonal relationship formed between a mental health professional and a patient. In this setting issues are addressed related to a person's level of functioning internally (way of thinking) and externally (how they react to the environment). In treatment, patients are able to talk with someone privately who is unbiased and that provides an objective point of view to their pending circumstance and assists them with problem resolution. Psychotherapy supports people with getting in touch with and their inner most feelings and learning how to communicate it more effectively, so that they improve relationships with others in their life (family/work/friends/school). This form of treatment can be performed one on one, with groups, couples and/or families. Individual psychotherapy is provided to adolescents and adults. Additionally, couples counseling and family therapy is also available. The primary mode of treatment is through behavioral and cognitive therapy models. Psychiatric referrals are available upon request.

You may be thinking, “I just don’t feel like myself.” but don’t know where to start to feel better. Did you imagine your life would be at a different place by now? Sometimes as great as family and friends are, they may not truly understand and an outside unbiased perspective is helpful. I know that it can be hard to reach out for help, let alone find a therapist who is right for you. I provide my clients with a warm, supportive, non-judgmental space to help empower you and give you the coping skills needed to live the life you deserve.

Do you feel you are riding an emotional rollercoaster? Alternatively, do you feel like you are living in auto-pilot, going through the motions in life without finding much satisfaction? Or maybe you are experiencing anxiety, depression, difficulty coping with past traumas, relationship or work difficulties, or are just feeling stuck. Although we may find ourselves surrounded by supportive family and friends, we may still feel alone and isolated in our distress. Pain in life may be unavoidable, but you don’t need to go through it alone.

Welcome! I am a psychotherapist who works with people to achieve a personal sense of well-being and vitality. I believe our life struggles are rooted in our unconscious. Due to imperfect childhoods, we develop defenses to help us cope. While we needed these defenses as children, they can become obstacles in our adult life, since they block our true feelings and greatest potential. I will actively collaborate with you to uncover these defenses and empower you to live a full, authentic, and joyful life.

"You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." (A.A. Milne). Helping a client become or feel more empowered is a key approach I take in my practice. I focus on helping my clients reflect on personal issues in order to better understand them and make the positive changes they desire to make.

Are you feeling sad, anxious, lonely or stressed out? Are you having relationship problems? Do you think that your partner is not responsive to your needs? Are you tired of feeling this way? It seems that the time has come to try something new and seek professional help. You have probably tried working these problems out by yourself, hoping things will change. Maybe you have spoken with friends and family, but you still feel stuck.

Infertility Therapists

How can infertility affect couples and their relationship?

Clients who are dealing with infertility may experience conflict and communication problems. It’s not unusual for shame, blame, and guilt to arise in cases of infertility, whether the source of the problem is one partner or both. This means that clients are upset and pulling away from their partner just when they need them the most. Some clients may find it difficult to spend time around friends and family who are pregnant. Friends and family can also make hurtful comments that increase tension during this time.

How does therapy for infertility issues work?

The therapist will begin by gathering information about the client or couple and make a treatment plan for their specific concerns. In addition to addressing common mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma reactions or PTSD, therapists can help clients improve their decision-making and deal with stressors unique to infertility. Some examples include coping with the “two-week wait” before a pregnancy test, the distress associated with a failed attempt or miscarriage, and the shame and blame sometimes associated with reproductive concerns.

What type of therapy is best for infertility issues?

Many therapists offer psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are dealing with infertility issues. Some helpful therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which can aid clients in reframing negative thoughts about their situation. Expressive writing and art therapy can help clients process difficult feelings. Clients might also benefit from group therapy to experience support from others who are dealing with the same problems.

How long does therapy for infertility issues take?

There is no set length for therapy that addresses infertility or reproductive concerns. Some clients might find it helpful to continue therapy during their pregnancy to have healthy ways to cope with any associated stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma. Some clients who decide not to pursue fertility treatments might benefit from the support of a therapist. The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual client’s specific needs and goals.
