Therapy has as its fulcrum a secure, connected, trustworthy relationship. Within this safe zone there is opportunity for discovery, healing, questioning, empowerment, questioning, and goal-setting. I see therapy as an open-ended, yet purposeful opportunity for all of these, and more. I strive to help clients explore and expand their sense of themselves, and to live and relate authentically, both in relationships and in vocation. I have a gentle, affirmative clinical presence, at points serene and curious, at others interactive, with humor as an adjunct.

Seeking therapy and support can be tough. I seek to create a safe and comfortable place for all individuals to work towards healing and growth from where they are, when they are ready. I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach that allows clients to work towards building on self-esteem and other necessary skills. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults as we all navigate the world and process the challenges that follow. I have three years of experience working in education that has enlightened my understanding of the complex, developmental processes, that children and adults face.

I primarily provide Telehealth services and limited face to face. I am a Licensed Clinical psychologist who completed clinical training at Duke University, Harvard Medical School's Victims of Violence Program and at the University of Massachusetts and UNC-Chapel Hill. I provide highly specialized treatments for traumatic stress (posttraumatic stress disorders), grief/loss, major depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I am trained in highly specialized, evidenced-based therapies that have scientific research supporting their efficacy. I have also worked extensively with veterans, students and physicians coping with burnout.

For my patients, things often look pretty impressive on the outside, but in their heads it’s a different story. The overachievers, the perfectionists, the people pleasers — no one in their lives might even guess they’re struggling. They look like they’ve got it all together. Despite being intelligent, effective, ambitious women, life isn’t as perfect as it seems. They feel anxious, stressed, unfulfilled, and burnt out; they’re critical of themselves; they’re dealing with the very real ups and downs of this particular season of life. They doubt themselves more than most people who have achieved half of what they have.

As a psychotherapist in full-time practice for over 30 years, I take an integrated approach to therapy. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Family Therapy, and mindfulness practices. Therapy can help you get unstuck.
