I enjoy working with people of all ages who are experiencing "life" & the stressors that come with it. Especially the older teen, young adult, Gen X & Millenials - life is a journey that none of us are particularly prepared for & there comes a time when a caring ear & an outside professional perspective can truly help. life happens - its how we cope with it that matters most! i work with common issues such as relationship stressors, family conflicts, school life issues, life changes, life planning, behavioral challenges, parenting stressors as well as adults struggling with career issues and in need of basic life coaching.

I provide psychological services to help children lead meaningful and vibrant lives. Disruptive behaviors, changes in the family structure, traumatic experiences and developmental issues are some of many challenges families are faced with. As children mature to a new stage of development their needs change and parents need to respond in a way to continue to foster the child's physical, social, and emotional well-being. I offer individual, parent-child (dyadic), group, and individual parent consultations services. These services are available to those seeking support, guidance, and meaning to what is taking place within themselves, their child, or their family.

You get up early for a quick shower or a hot cup of coffee before the kids wake up and the day gets insane. Or, you peel yourself out of your bed with foggy eyes and force yourself to get ready to start the day. That knot in your stomach just won't go away and you feel like you are running in circles. Things have happened in your life that affected you in ways you can't really understand. Strained relationships with family, a divorce or difficulty adjusting to your new role as a parent. Life doesn't have to be this way!

It is not always easy to find the perfect therapist. I pride myself in being trustworthy, empathic and culturally competent. If you are suffering from anxiety, you want to understand why and how to control and manage the anxiety. If you are suffering from depression, you want to feel good and excited, the feeling of wanting to live and have a wonderful life. If you are victim of abuse you need assistance and a safe place, we can work on it together. If you have mental health issues such as bipolar, schizophrenia I have been trained to help you with coping skills and manage your symptoms.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
