Castle Hill Counseling & Consulting, Inc. (CHCC) was founded in December of 2015. While drawing from my undergraduate education at Boston College, subsequent graduate program at Simmons College, and 20+ years of experience in the mental health and education field, I founded CHCC with the vision to deliver the highest quality service to children in the home, school environments, and to the larger systems supporting families through professional development, specialized trainings, and consultation. We have developed speciality areas of practice; including school refusal and avoidance, trauma, and educational program development.

In my 30+ years of experience as a therapist, clinical supervisor, researcher, educator and writer on complex trauma, I have come to believe that we are shaped as much by the good things that went missing from our lives as the bad things that happened to us. My clients have often endured severe abuse, neglect, oppression, and other forms of life adversity. They have learned to cope and survive in ways that get misunderstood and misdiagnosed, and that can cause profound stigma, shame and social rejection. Their courage and resilience inspires awe. Finding a therapist who can see and accept all parts of them is one key to recovery.

At the foundation of my approach is a strong connection between two people that is based on mutual safety, trust, & genuine care. Within this relationship, I am my authentic self by bringing my warmth, dedication, & quirky personality that often puts folks at ease & enables them to more compassionately understand their true selves, strengths & imperfections in all. Through this process of self-exploration, people I work with learn to more honestly attend to & express their emotions, which leads to greater self-acceptance & consequently freedom from self-doubt & low self-esteem.
