Hello! My name is Kate and I have been working in the mental health field for 9 years. I started off my undergraduate degree working alongside top psychiatrists at OSU in identifying and treatment manic symptoms in what is now published research. I obtained my bachelors degree in both psychology and nursing at OSU. I then went on to get my Masters degree in Psychiatric Nursing. I started off working as a psychiatric nurse in adolescent inpatient units. I then went on to community mental health, where I worked as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with clients from age 4 +, adolescents, adults to geriatric clients.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist specializing in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry and adult psychiatry. My services include the diagnosis and treatment of all mental illnesses in children/adolescents/adult including, but not limited to, ADHD, Depression, OCD, Anxiety, Autism Spectrum, Bipolar disorder, Personality disorders and PTSD. My interest in Psychology began by spending time with my stepfather, who was a psychiatrist. I became very interested in schizophrenia in 7th grade, which was a surprise to my teacher. I remember my stepfather helping me figure out how to pronounce medications during a trip to see my grandparents. In college, in the 1980’s, I volunteered for a domestic violence shelter/suicide hotline. I took every Psychology course offered by my undergraduate university as my electives.

I am a board certified, licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner trained to treat clients ages 12-65. I have several years of experience in diagnosing and treating a variation of psychiatric and substance use disorders in adolescents and adults. I have a background in inpatient as well as outpatient psychiatry. I focus on trauma informed care for my patients and provide pharmacological interventions in conjunction with nonpharmacological treatment modalities to best treat symptoms of mental illness and addiction.
