Alexander Gumbs, FNP/PMHNP-BC is a dual board-certified practitioner in psychiatry and family medicine. Mr. Gumbs uses an integrative holistic approach to treat the bodies and minds of his patients. He is proficient in treating those across the lifespan (children, adolescents, adults, and seniors). Community focus is his passion. He has experience treating disadvantaged populations, such as the homeless and those in the criminal justice system transitioning back to civilian life. Mr. Gumbs treats those with anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, depression, autism, insomnia, dementia, and postpartum depression.

As a licensed medical doctor and practicing psychiatrist, I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental conditions. As an osteopathic, physician, my philosophy incorporates a complete integration of the mind and the body. My training, both in psychopharmacology (medication) and psychotherapy (talk therapy), helps me incorporate both treatment modalities in my practice. This approach also relates to work I do in public mental health where I work part time providing mental health care to the homeless, severely mentally ill and LGBT at risk youth.

I have over 40 years experience as an adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist. I help people who want to gain control over their emotions and behaviors through psychotherapy. I successfully treat patients who suffer from severe mental illnesses who require medication management as part of a treatment plan. I treat children with various emotional and developmental problems and coordinate care with other professionals. I perform evaluations to help patients with legal and occupational problems. I am often consulted to help families going through divorce and other losses.

My primary goal is to help you or your child heal and be the best version of yourself. Our initial meeting will include psychiatric evaluation and assessment of need for medication. I am well-versed in psychotherapy and natural healing and use various modalities to help individuals regain both emotional and physical health. Dr. Albin is a Board Certified in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist. He completed his residency and fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, and currently provides evaluation and management of mental health issues with psychotherapy and medication management in private practice.

My goal is to bring hope to my clients, and help them understand and cope better with the people and life situations associated with the onset of their symptoms. I am a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist who specializes in different forms of psychotherapy--cognitive behavioral (CBT), metacognitive (MCT), interpersonal (IPT), psychodynamic, and supportive therapy--in addition to pharmacology to augment psychotherapy only when the need arises. I enjoy a diverse, multicultural client base and speak several languages.

Dr. Mohammed is well known in the community for his empathetic manner, and his ability to develop a therapeutic relationship with his patients. He can work with patients from all age groups, including children with special needs.
