Hello - thank you for your interest. My name is Mike Zhou and I am a psychiatrist in accepting new patients in New York, California, and Connecticut. Often times taking the first step toward change is intimidating, and I am here to help. Although common emotional challenges affect one in three adults, few individuals seek appropriate help and unfortunately their sense of well-being, relationships, and careers suffer because of it. Whether you are struggling with an existing psychiatric condition or are stuck and looking for answers, I can provide the space and guidance for healing and personal growth.

Many of my clients struggle with mood disorders or anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder. When psychiatric symptoms are too overwhelming and difficult to be addressed with psychotherapy alone, many clients may seek treatment with medications.

I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with experience in psychopharmacology and medication management. My background as a first-generation immigrant contributes to a deep appreciation of the healing modalities in Eastern and Western cultures. I am familiar with integrative psychiatric treatments and mindfulness, and I am focused on establishing a trusting relationship. Psychedelic research makes me excited and feels hopeful that instead of merely managing the symptoms, the future of psychiatry can strive for addressing the root causes of human suffering.
