As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I provide medication management only; I do NOT provide counseling/therapy services. I am also a provider that will be direct with my patients, ensuring that plain-speaking, honest conversation leads to open lines of communication. As a prescriber of psychiatric medications, and before discussing a potential medication regimen that you may benefit from, we will engage in a thorough discussion about your life, your past history, your current situation, and your treatment goals.
I specialize in medication for mood disorders for adults over 18 years old, such as depression and anxiety. I am also a Certified Addictions Advanced Practice Nurse to assist you with substance use disorders, medication for addiction treatment, and the co-occurring mood disorder you may be experiencing.
I am very conservative in my prescribing practices, tending to look with a critical eye at prescription history, and prefer to achieve your highest level of health with the least amount of medication. I am an advocate of counseling in addition to medication and strongly encourage my clients to work with a therapist for optimal treatment success.
