As a bedside ICU nurse of 25 years while caring for the critically ill patients, I realized the psychological and physiological burdens placed on the patients and their families. I wanted to provide more than just bedside care for my patient. As a provider I could provide holistic care: physiological, and spiritual care to my patients so I obtained my master specializing family nurse practitioner. For the last four years I have been providing care as a hospitalist mid-level to acutely ill patients and their families.

I work in collaboration with my patients. My goal is to guide them through the best treatment options for them so they can find relief. I believe in each patient having a unique path, and wants to work with people who are hopeful to find a way toward healing.

I am board certified in Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatry. I see children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults in my office in Dunwoody and am accepting new patients. I specialize in the use of medications and other holistic approaches to treat mental health conditions. I am also the Medical Director of Southern Live Oak Wellness. Treating clients with respect, integrity and compassion are my priorities. When managing medications, I incorporate the most current and best evidence based practices.

My ideal client is someone who is ready to take control of their mental health and make positive changes in their life. They may be struggling with symptoms that interfere with their daily functioning, relationships, and overall well-being. My goal is to empower them to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life by providing compassionate and effective care.

Lovelyne Joseph, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC Lovelyne Joseph is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Georgia who has been practicing since 2019. She earned a BSN from Remington College of Nursing, an MSN and FNP from South University, and a PMHNP from Florida State University. After several years in North Carolina working as a nurse and wanting to do more, I decided to become a nurse practitioner. Relocating to Georgia afforded me the opportunity to become an NP and begin my career working in women’s health and family medicine. In my daily work, I could not ignore the impact chronic physical conditions had on the mental health of my patients. This experience led me to making a change working with individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. It was here I found my niche, leading me back to school for a psychiatric mental health degree.

Dr. Chasity J. Carswell is a double board certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in psychiatry. Dr. Chasity received a Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2014. She then went on to pursue a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in August 2019. Dr. Chasity has worked in a variety of settings to include outpatient, inpatient crisis stabilization units, substance abuse detoxification and psychiatric consult liaison.

Asata Kamara AGNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a noteworthy and highly experienced medical professional with over 20 years of experience.
