Welcome! I'm a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a deep commitment to promoting mental wellness and transforming lives. With seven years of experience in the field of nursing aboard and overseas as a U.S. Air Force Veteran. I specialize in providing comprehensive psychiatric care and therapeutic interventions for individuals across the lifespan. I’m an Psychiatrist with over 40 years experience in the Mental Health and Behavioral Health industry. I am Board Certified ABPN since 1985. I’m experience to diagnose and prescribe medication for patients with mental health issues. I have been working for Ascend Behavioral Health Services in Psychiatry since July of 2020. We specialize in Addiction/Substance Abuse, Medication Management to treat psychiatric issues like ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Psychosis, etc. We treat Children, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry and Therapy.

As a person, social coherence is our order of the day. With it brings a lot of challenges that affect every one of us. This is the calling that drew me to psychiatry, where I can navigate how to help individuals and families cope with their daily issues. My name is Fernando and I have been a therapist for 22 years. I have a doctorate in special education, which allows me to do comprehensive developmental evaluations and psychiatric for pediatric patients exhibiting developmental delays. I have a postgraduate certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, which allows me to prescribe and treat various psychiatric disorders. I have another master’s degree in family and marriage therapy, as well as a second master’s degree specializing in advanced practice family medicine. I will hold dual board certifications through ANCC and AANP.

The education and experiences of 25+ years, have given me the skills of evaluating and treating a multitude of life situations. I treat clients who are adults, couples, teens, and children.
