I received my medical degree in Turkey. After graduating from medical school, I completed two years of mandatory service as a general practitioner in an underserved area near the Syrian border during the beginning of Syrian Civil War. While working there, I noticed that people mostly seek help for their physical illnesses and wounds. But some injuries/sufferings are not seen and yet pain the most. I realized that invisible wounds are the hardest to heal. It requires love, patience, understanding, and emotional support for their closure. I came to the USA to gain deep understanding on the biology of brain and mental illnesses.
