My mission is to provide compassionate, personalized care for adult individuals struggling with mental health issues and/or substance addiction. I specialize in treating substance addiction & co-occurring disorders, mood disorders (depression & bipolar), anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, adjustment disorders, trauma disorders, & sleep disorders, to name a few. As a psychiatrist, I prescribe medications when needed. I also provide psychotherapy: psychodynamic psychotherapy, motivational enhancement therapy, & supportive therapy (blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, & mindfulness).

Alex is a psychiatrist who completed his medical degree at Florida State University and his training at University Hospitals Adult Psychiatry Residency. Throughout his schooling and training he has seen the inadequacy of the current health system and has sought to gain additional knowledge in holistic approaches that address more of the whole individual instead of focusing on parts. He completed a one year program in Psychedelic Therapy and Research through the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Hi there! I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I have over 13 years of nursing experience and have worked in numerous settings including medical oncology, med surg, surgery, infusion therapy, and nurse navigation. My most recent position before joining Mindful Minds Psychiatry, I worked as a registered nurse on an acute inpatient psychiatric unit where we treated adult patients with various mental health disorders including mood, anxiety, psychotic illnesses, substance use, and disorders requiring acute stabilization.

Started out my career as a nurse in homecare in NY and also worked on the Navajo reservation. My nursing career brought me the good fortune of traveling for work; I have lived in all four corners of the US (and in the middle, too!) and have enjoyed meeting and working with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
