I am a more sensitive, empathic, and understanding child and adolescent psychiatrist (CAP) because I have ADHD and several different learning disabilities. When I was young, I constantly worried about being unable to stay in my seat or complete my assignments without making “silly” mistakes. As a child and adolescent psychiatrist, I’ve learned how to treat hyperactivity, but as an adult, I know what it’s like to be a hyperactive youngster. With that knowledge, I can ask kids “insider” questions that can only arise from shared experiences. My “insider” knowledge facilitates rapport, a core indicator of successful treatment.

Dr. Burritt is Board Certified in both General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has experience working with all ages from young children to older adults from various backgrounds. His training enabled him to see a wide range of patient situations at hospitals including Einstein, Jefferson, and Nemours DuPont. He enjoys working with individuals as well as couples and families. In addition to treating specific symptoms such as depression or anxiety, patients and he have worked together to address other challenges such as improving relationships or identifying what is blocking them from getting more out of life.

I am a double ABPN board certified psychiatrist in private practice specializing in both Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. I offer individualized, compassionate, comprehensive psychiatric treatment using a combination of psychotherapy and medication management. I treat patients across the life span, from early elementary school age to older adults. I have consults with parents who are hesitant or not quite ready for their child or adolescent to start medication but want to become knowledgeable in case that time comes.
