Pet Bereavement
Whether death comes through euthanasia, old age, sudden accident, or chronic illness the loss of a pet can cause enormous strain on a family and incredible feelings of sorrow, loss, guilt, and pain. Complicated bereavement can cause anxiety and depression as well as behavior changes in children. Depression, guilt, denial, and anger are normal reactions to death of a pet while working toward resolution of grief.
