Holistic Health and Wellness for Black Women
(Fall 2024) The goal of the group is to provide participants with information, strategies, and support in integrating lifelong holistic, healthy lifestyle practices. During the 10-weeks, participants will explore how purposeful action in the areas of mindful awareness, nutrition, physical activity, rest and relaxation, academic/career pursuits, relationships, finances, environment, spirituality, conventional medical care, and complementary care, can improve overall health, wellbeing, and life satisfaction. Sessions will include gentle movement, breath practices, and mindfulness meditation. Participants will be provided with activities to complete between sessions to support introspection and the integration of materials discussed in session.

Black Women's Health and Wellness: Mindfulness
(1/10/24 & 1/17/24) We will gather twice virtually via Zoom to discuss the practice of mindfulness meditation & mindfulness in everyday life. Mindfulness is the awareness of the present moment, moment to moment, without judgement. Mindfulness allows us to show up in our lives more fully and wisely. Over the course of the two weeks I'll highlight how mindfulness can support self-awareness & Black women's resilience by informing self-care. I work from the view of resilience as the ability to repeatedly find your way back to love, joy, inner peace, hope, and connection.

Black Women's Holistic Health and Wellness Retreat
The next Black Women's Holistic Health and Wellness Retreat will be held June 1st, 2024 in Decatur, GA. The topic for this half day retreat is, The Science of Stress and Stress Management: Protecting our Mental and Physical Health. The guest speakers for the retreat are cardiologist, Jayne Morgan, MD, & sound practitioner, Malaika Floyd founder of Flo+Vibe, LLC. During the retreat participants explore how purposeful action in the areas of holistic health and wellness can improve their mental and physical health and sense of wellbeing, and life satisfaction. The retreats included gentle movement, breath practices, and mindfulness meditation.
