Most people are Inherently "good," try to act this way, and don't know why this does not result in success, happiness. We will work to learn what interferes: Learning, health, life-stages, guilt, genetics, self-sabotage, traumas. You will make changes to free yourself from the past, so that future choices DO result in success, joy, peace. Since toddlers, we seek to be accepted, be useful; aware of this, you can meet your goals. Seeking help is bravely taking a risk, understandably causing many to be anxious at the 1st session. We'll work at YOUR pace. FOR FAST REPLY: swadams200[AT].com.

We look at the biological chemical change that occurs in the addicted brain. We look for ways to incorperate supplements to the individual person to increase their chances of recovery. In addition, we work with the families and the individual to better communicate and work towards a life without the use of alcohol or other drugs.

We look at the individual as an individual. It is with that apporach that we work to truly incorporate body and mind through behavioral and bio-chemical interventions. We bring traditional counseling techniques with a blend of supplements and amino acids to increase the individual's chances of a long-term change.

Feeling a bit frazzled & disconnected after the last two and a half years in the pandemic. Big feelings but no words to describe what is happening in your mind and body. Your nervous system is exhausted going from tension and feeling on edge to numbness and withdrawal on repeat. In this 4-week series, we’ll use Expressive Arts activities, (movement, sound/music, storytelling & silence) to move through our feelings, increase our resilience, create new connections, explore your curiosity, and find more peace in your life. Visit my website at https://www.mindbodywellnesswv.com/calm to learn more & register.

Overwhelmed. Anxious. Depressed. Stuck. These are the words that come to mind more often than not when you pause long enough to really consider how you are doing. You know it is time to regain control over your life. Seeking help is one of the most courageous acts of self-love an individual can do for himself or herself. Together, we work towards health, resilience, and well-being so that you can deal with life transitions, stress and illness. You will learn the skills necessary to approach life with greater ease when life’s unexpected difficulties happen.
Our team stands with LGBTQIA+ folk, and consider ourself a trans-affirming, anti-racist, and progressive leaning practice. We identify as strengths-based, body positive, and sex positive therapists. We work with individuals, families and monogamous and non-monogamous partnerships and relationships of any kind. We specialize in life transitions, eating disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and personal growth.

Are you feeling stuck, alone, lost? I can help. Everyone struggles with navigating a world that's often unkind, confusing, and overwhelming. I get it, it's hard to be a human. Having lived all over the world & moved 19 times, I know life can be tricky to navigate. Sometimes you need someone from the outside to help you make sense of life's messy stuff. I can. I've worked in prisons, with veterans, mil-families, trauma victims, govt officials, celebrities, moms, dads, college students, people like you and me, just trying to do life. I'm confident that together, we can shift, adjust, adapt and thrive. Breathe, then get unstuck.

Award winning transformation focused therapist Licensed in Virginia and D.C. Losing a loved one can be the most difficult time in your life. Emotions are often surprising in their strength or mildness. Grief often breaks a person completely from the inside out. Grieving is hard work, you can get worn out, and feel battered. It can take a lot longer to work through grief than most people realize. People around you may think it’s helpful for you to not talk or cry or focus on your loss but actually, this is just what people need to do. The goal is to not stay stuck, to move through it—and this is part of the process.
