Hello! I am Rebecca, I am a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), Person-centred Psychotherapist & Counsellor. I have a private CBT & Counselling practice in West Malling, near Maidstone, Kent. I work with a wide variety of issues including Anxiety, OCD, Depression, PTSD, Low self esteem, Panic attacks Health anxiety and Phobias.
CBT works on the understanding that the thoughts that we have, coupled with the things that we do, directly affect how we feel. We look at our thinking, perceptions, and interpretations to see if there are changes that can be made to help us to feel better. We also look at our behaviours - the things we do and the things we don’t do.
CBT is a solution-focused therapy, often getting long-lasting results in a short space of time. In the first instance, we spend some time making sense of things together - this process is called formulating. From here we are able to have a shared understanding of how things fit together, what's keeping the problem going, and where we need to make changes.
