I believe in the importance of meeting you where you are in this moment in time. My experience is with individuals who seek self-improvement, empowerment, and healing from childhood and/or relationship trauma. I provide a psychoeducational component to counselling sessions because when you have new information you have the ability to make different choices. We can work collaboratively to examine what is getting in the way of the life you want to live and how to move forward. Trauma informed care is provided in a collaborative approach with a focus on strengths and connection.
With your informed consent I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help break through the emotional blocks that are keeping you from living an adaptive emotionally healthy life. Within the treatment plan, EMDR, along with other therapy approaches (talk therapy and somatic therapy), will be used to accomplish your treatment goals.
Trauma informed care is provided in a collaborative approach with a focus on connection and your strengths. As you embark on your healing path, my goal is for you to genuinely feel seen and heard. An empathic approach to counselling focuses on helping you heal from trauma as you explore your relationship with yourself and/or relationships with others.
