I work with people experiencing the struggles of being human in our modern world. People who know anxiety and alienation, and those grappling with grief of all kinds. Maybe you're cracking under the pressure of impossible societal expectations. Maybe you're navigating big changes, losses and overwhelm. Or maybe you've built relationships that no longer nourish you or maybe never did. I imagine that whatever brings you here, you're wanting wellness on your terms. I can support you in exploring new ways of being true to yourself, in a space where play, humour, and lightness are always welcome.

Are you at home in the middle of the day eating Doritos in your PJs? Could you use a little more excellence and a little less existential dread? So many of us come to a point where we hit a wall. Distractions, hindering thoughts and the feeling of overall suspended doom eventually creeps in. Do you find yourself hating what used to be your dream job? Maybe you're watching your dreams slip away as you grapple with capitalist confinement? Or perhaps you just haven't witnessed the best version of yourself and can't wait to show up to your own life.

Life's experiences, both big and small, can influence how we relate to others, communicate, and handle conflicts. Sometimes, past traumas or unresolved issues create emotional barriers that make it difficult to connect, even with the people we care about most. That’s where I come in—to help you navigate through those challenges and build stronger, healthier relationships. I focus on helping individuals and couples foster deeper emotional connections, improve communication, and resolve conflicts.

Very often, people get to Sexotherapy and Psychotherapy after having already consulted elsewhere and are still missing some of the points to function at their best or they are pushed by loved ones or work to really address issues.
"Telling is transformative. When we let someone know what we have lived through and that person hears us with respect and genuine caring, we begin a process of change essential to healing." (Bass & Davis, Courage to Heal, p.106) Individual or couple consultation can help start the process of healing which can induce confidence and skills to develop or regain Wise Intimate Connections. If conflict resolution is needed to reach your goal, we also provide Family Mediation and are a Member of the Collaborative Law Group of Sudbury. Nos services sont bilingues. We can provide online sessions using "OnCall Health".

Sex Therapy Counsellors

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
