Groups
Stress and Anger Management
Participants are taught about anger and stress from a biological perspective, recognition of anger triggers and body cues, thoughts and emotions that can underlie anger, and adaptive coping strategies to more effectively manage personal life stressors. Participants learn to be more aware of their own and other people’s feelings and how to control these feelings would be a useful starting point to help them deal with their anger. Primary focuses also include assertive communication and conflict resolution to improve interpersonal functioning, and healthy self-care practices to reduce stress.
Sex Offender Relapse Prevention
The SORP program focuses on identifying precursors of sexual offending and high-risk situations that could lead to re-offending. Participants are taught methods of identifying personal life stressors and thinking errors that contributed to their offence, victim empathy, strategies to delay immediate gratification, consent and appropriate sexual boundaries with the goal of reducing the risk of recidivism.
