My approach to helping people is patient-centered and integrative. I practice evidence-based approaches and shared decision making. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner trained at University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers University and a licensed psychologist trained at Temple University. As an assistant professor of medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School I teach family medicine residents and medical students psychopharmacology, behavioral health and life style medicine. This provides me with a breadth of knowledge and unique experience particularly when people have physical health problems.
My special areas of interest are women's mental health generally, including depression, postpartum depression, premenstrual dysphoric disorder anxiety ( panic, generalized anxiety and OCD). I use a multimodal approach starting with diagnosis, then psychopharmacology, natural supplements, Behavioral Activation and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
